FAQ'S for Members

Common Settings and some explanations for why:

  1. /autotarget off

    1. We do not want to attack sleeping monsters by accident.

  2. Config/Misc. 2/Key Assignments/Commands

    1. Call for Help

    2. Clear this command by selecting it and hitting G. ** Calling for help in Dynamis must never be done. **

  3. Please minimize the use of party and LS chat.

  4. Pullers/aides will be calling out what to attack over LS chat and this must be easy to see.

  5. Remove all /p chat from macros.

  6. The following macros should have /l chat within them.

    1. Provoke. (Only for the main chooser, everyone else will /assist this person.)

    2. Shadowbind.

  7. Set your Home Point to the zone we are doing Dynamis in.  You might need to respawn there or warp.

  8. Should you accidentally link monsters, do not train them back to the group.  Run off and die far away from us so as not to get us all killed.

  9. Targeting

    1. Do not use <t> or <bt> in macros.  Everyone should be using subtargeting <stnpc> and <stpc>.

It’s far more efficient that tabbing through 50 players in order to find a specific monster.

    2. /assist <chooser’s Name>

  10. Do not /heal when a sacrifice pull is being made.  You risk getting aggro if you do.

  11. Turn down all graphic settings.  The massive number of PCs and enemies in these zones will cause gameplay to lag.

    1. Config/Misc. – turn shadows off.

    2. Config/Misc. 2 – turn footstep effects off.

    3. Config/Effects – turn each option “on” to disable battle effects.

    4. There are some exceptions to this.  Example, a BLM wants to see which monsters are hit by Sleepga II by looking for the graphic and a BRD wants to see who gets hit by songs by looking at the graphic.  Use your judgment to determine if any of these should be “off”.

  12. Lower graphic settings in the FFXI configuration tool if necessary.
